In our last blog, we discussed a few ways in which ordering 3D prototypes for a product or part before ordering the final, permanent part can save you money in the long run. Here are a few more ways that prototypes help save money:
- If you are having trouble deciding between designs or certain options in your design, prototypes allow you to test them by simply ordering one of a few products in each design. This way, you can use and test each of the designs and find which one actually functions the best.
- Sending a prototype to manufacturers overseas will help ensure accuracy in the final product, because they have an exact model to work from. There can be confusion when they are trying to produce something from a flat, computer screen model, but prototypes eliminate this confusion.
- Prototypes can stand in for a real part while you wait for it to be manufactured, thus allowing you to get on with business sooner.
