3D Prototypes are used in many different industries, but certain industries do tend to use them more often and in greater quantities.

Engineers in particular tend to create 3D prototypes to test and demonstrate the design of different parts, especially those engineers who are involved in manufacturing. Other professions, such as architects, use them often to demonstrate a building design, artists to test a sculpture, game designers to show a new piece in a game, or surgeons to teach using 3D models.

While different professions tend to use 3D prototypes more often, though, this does not mean that all industries can’t benefit from using 3D models. These models allow parts to be tested before ordering large quantities of more expensive final products, they allow you to better convey a design and demonstrate its assets, and they allow problems to be addressed earlier in the manufacturing process, saving money in the long run
