In our last blog, we discussed three important questions to consider when choosing a rapid prototype company to fulfill your 3D prototype needs. Here are some more important questions to add to that list and to ask when you are shopping around.

  • Is the company quoting in the same currency that you use? For instance, a quote in Canadian dollars would cost much less if you are paying in US Dollars, and vice versa. Make sure to double check the currency used to create the amount that is being quoted.
  • Are all of the parts in your prototype being built at the same thickness or are some different? This could affect the durability and test-ability of your prototype once you receive it.
  • Are you comparing identical rapid prototyping processes or are the quotes for companies that are using different processes, such as SLS versus SLA?
